Loaded Mashed Potato All-beef Foot Long Hot Diggity Dog
So if y'all think back when I shared with you how to make perfect homemade potato skins I promised to share with you some ways to employ upward the irish potato filling (don't worry, I'll share with a proper blimp potato skins recipe shortly). I had every intention in making something elaborate and fancy with it extra irish potato centers but honestly when I smelled those warm potatoes and saw how light and fluffy they looked I wanted mashed potatoes. It was similar I was craving them like a pregnant lady craves human foot long hot dogs with pickles at 3am (my Mom ate that for iii months straight). Before you even enquire, no I'm not significant either.
Potatoes are one of my all time favorite veggies. Mayhap it's because it's one of those things Mom always made – it's a condolement nutrient, it's super inexpensive and can feed a crowd. It keeps you satiated for hours and only is.. it's just um… I don't know, I'g at a loss for words. Mashed taters simply rock. LOL
At present working with roasted irish potato filling is really different than regular boiled potatoes. I, the texture is completely dissimilar. 2d, is the sense of taste. The potatoes take that true roasted broiled spud taste. The texture of the potatoes are flakier, drier, stiffer but more richer (if that makes sense). They have such a not bad depth of flavor.
To make these Buttery Oven Roasted Loaded Mashed Potatoes, I wanted to go total on decadent. I wanted it to taste similar a loaded baked potato but however with that mashed potato creaminess. At present when I think loaded baked white potato I retrieve roasted potatoes, chives, crispy bacon, cheddar cheese, tons of butter and of course, sour cream. I hateful we're going loaded so why not?!
The trick to these is to not add a lot of milk or foam. Considering you're adding the sour cream it'll act as the creamy factor needed for that mashed potato texture. At present for these, I didn't use a rice mill or fifty-fifty electric beaters; there was no need likewise. The potatoes were already tender and fluffy from beingness broiled that any standard potato masher would piece of work. Heck even a fork would work. All yous're doing is mashing the ingredients together. Even I, who was in a sling for weeks, was able to mash these 1-armed without using any effort.
Since I wanted to come across pieces of scallions, salary and cheese, I folded those ingredients in. I wanted these potatoes to have texture. I wanted them to be more rustic and rugged. If you wanted you don't even take to actually mash the potatoes if you wanted a more mesomorphic texture. I would simply mix together the butter and sour cream outset before folding them into the potatoes with the other ingredients.
And before you lot ask, yeah, y'all can eat these every bit-is. Even so you can take this a footstep further and turn it into a broiled potato goulash. All you lot demand to add a tablespoon more of butter, another 1/two cup of cheddar and perchance 3 more strips of crispy bacon. Just place all the ingredients per the recipe below into a buttered casserole dish. Bake at 350 for xx-25 minutes, remove from the oven, top with the additional cheese and salary and bacon and broil for another 5. The mixture volition so be more thick and firm verses like traditional mashed potatoes.
